We did not go inside the house for the tour. We stopped to stretch our legs on a dive down to NOLA. We were ahead of schedule, so I talked the car into driving through Cairo. I wanted to see the city specifically for it's tie to American Gods. This mansion is a bright spot in a depressing city. I will suggest people drive through, but only to get a view of the depressed America that many of us never see. It will put things in perspective.
Cool house in an interesting town. Only saw from the outside.
Needs some work done on the grounds. But it is what it is. Needs help.
This was a nice stop. The curator was very informative and knowledge. The house was full of items from the era, many were original to this 1800's historian home. The tour takes a little over an hour and costs $8 per adult.
This was so Beautiful! Definitely worth going to see.
